Rescue Partners

WHS New Logo 2007We have built long-standing relationships and partnered with our local shelters to make sure animals get to their forever homes. We have frequent in-store adoption events to create a venue for animals to meet their new adopters, and we maintain a generous Gifts for Goodness adoption program for new adopters.

We have worked with WARL for years, helping them establish their shelter store, promoting adoption events and partnering with them on special projects. We work diligently with programs like the WARL Food Bank to make sure WARL logo_HORZ CMYKthat short-dated food and products from our vendors do not go to waste.

More Than 11 Years In Business

WOW, We can’t believe it has been 10 years since we opened our first holistic pet supply store in Takoma DC!

Everyone told us we couldn’t build a store with eco-friendly supplies and made in the USA products and survive. There was no question that we would apply the same principles  of how we ate, lived and shopped to how we would stock & run our store. Now everything that they told us we couldn’t do has become mainstream!

Our Mission

Finding products with the least environment footprint,  and supporting small, local, minority, and fair trade companies when making product selections.  We actively make decisions to keep local money local instead of just using large national companies.  For our communities, providing a place where organizations with similar sustainable goals can come and provide information to the public.
