Puppy Mill Survivors - The Photo Book Project

This book will tug at your heartstrings. Melissa McDaniel's book, filled with personality-packed photographs and heartwarming stories, depicts the remarkable tales of courageous dogs who have been to hell and back. These are the puppy-mill survivors. Rescued from living as unnamed breeder dogs existing in filth and pain in isolated cages, they made the (sometimes difficult) transition into their new lives as much-loved family pets. They were given a second chance at life. The fourth book in the award-winning photo book project series, Puppy-Mill Survivors is undoubtedly the project's most important book to date. It is a must-have book for any dog lover or animal-rights supporter.

Melissa McDaniel is a photographer and founder of The Photo Book Projects, a series of photo books designed to raise awareness about issues affecting companion animals, especially those that are mistreated or misunderstood. The first book in the series, Deaf Dogs, was inspired by Melissa's own deaf dog Sadie. It won the IPPY award, as did her third book, Pit Bulls & Pit Bull Type Dogs. The final book in the series, Puppy-Mill Survivors, was released at the end of 2013. Melissa lives in Philadelphia.
