WARNING: Thought You Should Know

  • Fipronil, a common insecticide, which is the main ingredient in Frontline and TopSpot. *Fipronil is a broad-use insecticide that belongs to the phenylpyrazole chemical family. Fipronil is a broad-spectrum insecticide that disrupts the insect central nervous system by blocking GABA-gated chloride channels and glutamate-gated chloride (GluCl) channels, resulting in central nervous system toxicity. This causes hyperexcitation of contaminated insects' nerves and muscles

  • Permethrin is another insecticide found in K9 Advantix.  *Permethrin acts as a neurotoxin, slowing down the nervous system through binding to sodium channels. Permethrin does not present any notable genotoxicity or immunotoxicity in humans and farm animals, but is classified by the EPA as a likely human  carcinogen, based on reproducible studies in which mice fed permethrin developed liver and lung tumors.[19] Carcinogenic action in nasalmucosal cells due to inhalation exposure is suspected, due to observed genotoxicity in human tissue samples, and in rat livers the evidence of increased preneoplastic lesions raises concern over oral exposure
  • *Lufenuronis the active ingredient in the veterinaryflea control medication Program, and one of the two active ingredients in the flea, heartworm, and anthelmintic medicine milbemycin oxime/lufenuron (Sentinel). Lufenuron is stored in the animal's body fat and transferred to adult fleas through the host's blood when they feed. Adult fleas transfer it to their growing eggs through their blood, and to hatched larvae feeding on her excrement. It does not kill adult fleas.
  • Something To Think About- If these methods were safe, why doesn't the Pharmaceutical companies make a formula for HUMAN use?
Research sources on *Fipronil, *Permethrin, and *Lufenuron came form Wikipedia.
